October, 2011

Hope everybody had a great summer; but don’t put your planes away yet, there are still some great flying days to go around. First off I’d like to personally thank all members and their families who dined with us at The Canopy over the summer, I think it went well and the club has benefited from the sales. I will be presenting a check for $100.32 on behalf of our hungry members at the October meeting [which is at the knights of Columbus]. This is something I will do next season also.

We had our picnic on September 11, the weather was cooperating [it was a good thing it went off then, the next few Sundays weren’t so friendly] and we had a nice turn out of members. Who brought their arsenal of planes and helicopters for a great day of flying, and our lucky raffle winner John Bergeron [who stole the show winning both a mini blade helicopter and a multiplex glider] congratulations to you, and I think we just inherited a new member also. After everything was said and done the club put $30.71 in our account. Once again THANKS to all members and their families for donating and contributing to make our club picnic a success that it was.

We’re still hoping some of our members will be trying their luck for a free AMA and SPARKS membership for the 2012 flying season, tickets are $10.00 each buy as many as you want to increase your chances. If you don’t have a ticket yet there’s still time to get them as the drawing will be at the Christmas party. [Members need not be present to win] We have thirteen tickets sold so far, [I think we can do better than that].

Our next meeting is Wed, Oct 12 at the Knights of Columbus 460 Granby Rd. Chicopee at 7 pm.

Thanks to all the members for the great job keeping our club looking and running the way it is
